Hale Makua

Aloha

When we opened our doors in 1947, Hale Makua took its name - meaning Home of Respected Elders – because of the respect of all of our local cultures for care for the elderly. Today, Hale Makua is a leader in the Hawaii’s healthcare community, and continues to grow to meet the expanding and changing healthcare needs of people of all ages.

We are proud to work closely with Maui's medical community, and to be the lead partner in the Maui Long Term Care Partnership. We offer long-term care, out-patient rehabilitation, home health care, adult day health and foster family care.

Hale Makua is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization, and currently has two locations on Maui, in Kahului and Wailuku. It is the fifth largest non-government employer on Maui, based on number of employees, and was one of the top 250 businesses in Hawaii, according to Hawaii Business magazine’s ranking for 2006.
