Hale Makua

I Want to Give

Hale Makua continues to need your generous support today. As the reimbursements we receive do not cover the rising costs for providing care, our needs are as urgent as ever.

By pledging your support, you can truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Any contribution you can give will be most appreciated as we strive to provide excellence in healthcare in our home and yours. Click here to donate now.

WAYS TO HELP

Luana Campaign

Contributions received for our Luana Campaign help us to provide our residents with an environment that feels more like living at home. Luana is the Hawaiian word for “Live in Comfort.” This word captures the essence of the type of care and living that Hale Makua strives to provide residents with. The goal of the Luana Project is to eliminate loneliness, helplessness, and boredom in our elders by creating a new culture of care where elders and staff join together to make decisions about daily life in the Hale Makua community.

Annual Fund

Unrestricted donations to our Annual Fund are used to help support both the re-engineering of our facility spaces to meet the needs of our residents and vital programs at Hale Makua including Long-Term Nursing Care, Respite Care, Rehabilitation Services, Adult Day Health, Home Health Services, and Foster Family Care.

Planned Giving

Hale Makua can accept planned gifts that include gifts made through wills, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, pooled income funds, and charitable trusts. Please call our Development Office for more information.

In-Kind Gifts

Hale Makua is happy to accept in-kind donations to help fulfill the needs in our Wish List. If you would like to make an in-kind donation, whether it’s on our list or not, please call us at (808) 871-9283.

Wish List

We often have a wish list of items that would help us serve our clients. Currently, the following items are on our wish list:

  • We always need bingo prizes. Hats, hand-held mirrors, coin purses and the like are popular prizes.
  • In Wailuku, we’d like to have a weather-proof display board that hangs on the wall to display resident artwork.
  • We’d like some plants for hanging baskets, or in pots, for our residents to tend.

We greatly appreciate both financial contributions and donations of time! Your gifts to Hale Makua are tax deductible. As a member of the Hale Makua Ohana, you will receive our quarterly newsletter with information on how your gift was used.
